Mira Vista – America’s “newest” and “oldest” clothing-optional
resort. Mira Vista opened in May of 2006 under a new name
and a new policy of wholesome nude recreation on an old
property with a history dating back to the 1850s. The resort is
a step back in time, starting with the main building hacienda,
home to the lobby, office, dining room, gift shop, library and
Old West saloon. Fourteen guest suites in original adobe-style
buildings are accented with local rock and mortar walls. The
30 acre grounds are filled with mature trees, saguaro cacti and
many other native desert plants. Desert animals and birds are
plentiful and sightings are common in this largely rural area.
It’s hard to believe that this great escape from the city is just 3
miles from Interstate 10.

Words and pictures can’t convey all of the special charm and
character of this unique resort. Being able to enjoy it all
clothes-free just adds to the level of relaxation.

My Review - Mira Vista Resort

We heard about Mira Vista while visiting at DeAnza Springs Resort. There is
some type of common ownership between these resorts and they have brochures
at DeAnza telling about Mira Vista. So we decided that we would stop by on our
way back east. The resort is not very far off of I-10 and about 4 hours from
DeAnza.

Upon arriving the first thing we found out was that this resort is not really an RV
resort. It is more of a spa with hotel rooms available. They do have limited
hook-ups for RVs but the ingress and egress for a 40 foot unit is limited. The turns
and slopes are not RV friendly. We did manage to work our way into a great
parking space, but we only had 30 amp power. That is a problem in the desert
(this resort is just outside Tucson, AZ) because we can only run one air
conditioning unit at a time.

The old west town set-up was interesting and made for some great photo ops. We
saw plenty of wildlife including snakes and javelinas (small pig looking animal).
The view across the valley to Tucson was amazing and of course we enjoyed
seeing the real "west" cactus.

The resort was really nice with a great pool and hot tub. We especially enjoyed
the bar and restaurant because we could be nude. It was the finest dining
experience I have ever had while nude. The food was great and the service was
equal.

This was a very nice facility UNLESS you are traveling in a large RV. Stay in the
motel rooms or bring a smaller unit. However, we thorougly enjoyed our stay and I
would rank it in the top 3 of any resort we have ever stayed in.
